The Lodz Children Choir is visiting Israel as a part of a Polish-Israeli cultural exchange program. The choir members take part in numerous musical, educational and cultural events.
During their stay in Israel, the choir visited Polish Institute in Tel Aviv and Mashmaut center where the choir members took part in a meeting with a 99-year-old survivor from Litzmannstadt Ghetto. In the next couple of days, they will participate in the Purim carnival, take a trip to the Sea of Galilee and visit the holy places of Christianity. On Thursday, the final day of their stay in Israel, the choir will go to a concert in Kiryat Motzkin.
Lodz Children Choir was established in 2015. The ensemble played concerts in Poland and other European countries, represented Poland at the Polish Culture Festival in Luxembourg and performed in the children’s opera „Brundibar” written by a Jewish-Czech composer Hans Krasa. The choir performs in 16 languages including Hebrew and Yiddish.
The Lodz Children Choir will stay in Israel till March 9. In their turn, the youth from the Israeli children choir Kova Temble. We hope that the international youth meetings will become a platform for breaking the barriers between Polish and Israeli cultures, building mutual respect for our common centuries-long history as well as the beginning of new friendships.
